Banded Crickets are a staple diet for most insectivores as well as omnivores and carnivores for years. They are relatively cheap, easily to acquire, and cared for properly, can be an easy to keep, nutrient rich part of your pet’s diet.
When choosing the appropriate sized cricket for your reptile, the cricket should be roughly the length of the distance between the eyes of the reptile. This is just a guideline. Certain reptiles will be able to eat much larger and some require smaller. When in doubt, it is safer to stick to the smaller size unless you know for sure your pet can take on the bigger ones!
How to Feed
Crickets can be fed as a staple, depending on the animals you’re feeding. Make sure to dust crickets with a proper vitamin and mineral supplement before being fed to your pet. Feed crickets using feeding tongs or in a dish.
We carry crickets in stock in 3 sizes, all at the same price. 1/4″, 1/2″ and 3/4″. House crickets and other sizes are available as well, at the request of the customer but will have to be ordered in for you.
